Driftwood Communications is actively recruiting for a Full-Time Telecom Network Designer to join our team.
Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
Location: Western Canada

Role Responsibilities
- Conduct field site surveys of assigned projects to collect field data required; ensuring all information specific to the scope of the project is collected and documented.
- Prepare and layout of HFC broadband plant, with signal levels and powering design for projects including Node+0 Actives, Legacy RF and Fibre only designs: New Development, Upgrades, Forced Relocation, Node Segmentation & amp; Backbone, Power Realm Segmentations, Fibre POP Sites
- Perform detailed design of RF plant, including signal level and powering design
- Review HFC designs to ensure that they follow project guidelines
Requirements
- Motivated and willingness to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment requirements
Assets
- Experience working within FTTP and or HFC broadband plant, traditional Telephone cable design and fibre design
- Working knowledge of PON or CATV standards and architectures
- Ability to create telecom documents, drawings, specifications
- Understanding of current aerial and underground construction practices and methodology
- Familiarity with survey tools such as the IKE GPS or Trimble
- MicroStation or AutoCAD experience
- Spatial Net experience
- Having a background in Electrical is an asset
- Graduated from a Technical and or Engineering program or similar. (preferably in one of the following areas: civil, electrical/telecommunications)
- Experience using a project management system (such as QuickBase) which are driven by Task assignments and tracking of project elements
