Network Technician
- Location: Montréal, Quebec, Canada
The Network Technician is responsible for maintaining and commissioning Rogers network elements and transport facilities within a defined area of the Rogers network to achieve optimum service levels for cellular and enterprise customers.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to trouble reports of network problems by performing effective problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair to ensure service restoral objectives are met.
- Coordinate with other Field Technicians as required to restore network problems
- Plan for and execute preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.
- Perform rearrangement and changes on the network as directed by electronic work orders.
- Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.
- Participate in activities associated with network optimization and build activities.
- Follow the timeline and the escalation procedure.
- Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.
- Document activities for future assessment analysis.
- Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, deficiency tickets, incident reports and other required reports.
- Install fiber optic cables associated to construction and implementation within new enterprise costumers
Qualifications:
- 2 - 4 years of telecommunications experience.
- Diploma/Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.
- Knowledge of transmission equipment, microwave radio, fiber optic and multiplexer.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong computer skills
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Special Requirements:
- Requirement to work overtime and on standby.
- Ability to travel and work at various sites
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and have a clean driving record
